Dear Drum Corps Friends:
The PAL Buccaneers Junior Drum & Bugle Corps has brought neighborhood drum corps back to Connecticut! We are self-funded, not sponsored by the City of Bridgeport nor by the Bridgeport PAL. Just once each year the PAL Buccaneers will appeal to the regional drum & Bugle Corps community for financial support. That community essentially comprises The Park City Pride, The Hurricanes, The Connecticut Alumni Corps and supporters of drum corps, in general. The area drum corps community has been wonderfully supportive of the PAL Buccaneers since its start less than a year ago. We are humbled by that support and deeply thankful for the return of that old-fashioned drum corps spirit.      On March 11, 2006 The PAL Buccaneers are sponsoring our first annual Brass By Night alumni drum corps concert featuring alumni corps from New England and the Northeast. The Park City Pride, Skyliners, Marksmen, MassBrass, the Trumbull High School Jazz Ensemble, and The CT Alumni Corps have graciously accepted our invitation to perform that evening. We ask that every Buccaneer alumni and fan promote ticket sales to family and friends. The PAL Buccaneers need to sell more than 800 tickets for this event. We know that if all our alumni and friends gets behind an event like this, it will be a success.      So I’m asking you to get behind this event and make it a success for the PAL Buccaneers kids. We’re a purely volunteer organization. All of the money, 100%, goes directly to the kids. 100%. This concert fundraiser is the only time this year we’ll appeal to you for this kind of support.
